Lockport Steel was originally founded in 1943 by the Herman Family in Lockport Illinois as Steel Fabricators, later changing their name to Lockport Steel. The company has had a long tradition of supplying quality, turnkey solutions to our loyal customer base, and continues those long-standing traditions into our 80th year in business. In 2004 current ownership acquired the company from the Herman Family and remained a staple in the community continuing to provide our Fabrication services both locally and nationwide. At the time of acquisition, one of the partners had sole ownership of Wil-lan Company (aka Bending Specialist, LLC) and a decision was made to merger with Lockport Steel in 2008 to take advantage of the similar fabrication skills, methodologies, and equipment. Subsequently, Binzel Industries, a miscellaneous metals fabricator was acquired in 2011 to additionally capitalize on the synergizes in manufacturing processes and customer base. Ownership acquired Binzel as the market for architectural and ornamental steel was very large and could be used to acquire business to fill the production line if/when LSF and Bending were between projects.
